Much has been made of the Pozzo family's ownership of Watford this season and their dubious transfer dealings in the loan market. Due to the large number of loanees from Italian club Udinese, many fans have dubbed Watford 'Udinese B' with match reports even featuring on the Italian club's website.
If recent reports are anything to go by then Italian film star and Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is looking to invest in an English team to add to his 'footballing empire'. With current owners GFH Capital looking to sell a majority stake in the company then Leeds could definitely fit the bill for the eccentric Italian. What wouldn't go down well with Leeds fans is that we would be a feeder club for the love of his life back in Naples and with two clubs to bankroll his finances may be stretched. If he does purchase an English club, he wants to install former Napoli manager Edy Reja as his new manager, another thing which may upset a fanbase who have already seen plenty of turmoil. While most fans would prefer homegrown players coming through, if it worked out a little bit better than the Watford experiment did and Leeds ended up in the Premier League then I'm sure many Leeds fans would not be against De Laurentiis, after all, who could be worse than Bates?
