Brian McDermott again mentioned the need for Leeds to sell in order buy and this was reflected in the papers as El Hadji Diouf was again linked with a move out of the club, instead of AS Kaloum of Guinea, the prospective teams were QPR and members of Qatar's All Stars League. Another player linked with a move out of the club was Ross McCormack, previously linked with QPR and now Blackpool, coached by one of McCormack's former teammates,Alex Rae are supposedly interested. There is just one new player to be linked with a move out of the club and that is...
Aidy White- Blackpool
The Daily Mail ran the story that the Irish under 21 could be the subject of an audacious double swoop for both himself and McCormack. White has had a turbulent start to his career at Leeds, partly down to each manager playing him in a different position. Under Grayson, he was a left back, under Warnock he was a left and for some reason (right) winger and during pre-season so far he has played at the tip of a diamond behind the front two. Last season, White's contract was running down and a number of suitors came forward ranging from Borussia Dortmund and Lille to Celtic and Derby County and if he had left last season, Leeds would've been due a considerable fee in compensation. To be honest, although he isn't a great player he is still only young and I would sooner have an academy player and Leeds lad be a squad player than a thirty something journeyman.
Watch Aidy White give Leeds the lead in last season's League Cup tie against Everton.
