Peltier passed the ball wide to Warnock. Warnock knocks it long to Morison. Leeds lose the ball. This was repeated throughout the game time after time, so much so it was almost like it was a practiced move from training
To be fair Leeds started the game brightly and dominated the possession as Green and Austin asserted themselves, pushing Derby deep into their own half. The problems came when Varney would get on the ball and would swing in an aimless cross, with no-one attacking it. Our best play consistently came through Sam Byram as he seemed the only defender capable of keeping the ball on the floor and at times he linked well with debutant Chris Dawson. Dawson struggled to get into the game and was often out muscled however, he was one of the few players who looked for a pass and attempted to be constructive in possession. Leeds had the two best chances of the half as Varney lashed wide and Paul Green rattled the underside of the bar.
In the second half, Derby came out strongly and Paddy Kenny was called upon to produce an excellent save from a well struck free kick. Derby then had the ball in the net as Lee Peltier shinned the ball past Kenny, but the linesman ruled it out for offside. Leeds would open the scoring however, as Paul Green laid off McCormack, who provided a sumptuous finish to give the 21,000 strong crowd something to cheer for. The lead would last only 6 minutes though as Pearce doinghis best impression of a Sunday league player, got the wrong side of his man and brought him down from behind. Sammon's penalty would hit the post before Coutts bundled in the rebound. Leeds again had the bar shaking in what would prove to be our last noteworthy chance. Derby laid onslaught to the Leeds goal and were unlucky not to have a penalty as White fouled in the box. Leeds would again show their weakness from set pieces as Buxton nodded past Kenny on the 88 minute mark. As the whistle sounded chants of 'Warnock Warnock, Time to go' were echoing around Elland Road and for me the road is up for him, he looks devoid of any tactical awareness and the favouritism of 'his' players to the detriment of the team is dumbfounding.
8 points off the play offs but only 5 off relegation and with us unable to find a win from anywhere at the moment, there is every possibility that Neil ''promotion specialist' Warnock has dragged us into a relegation dogfight. He will blame the officials again, but when we can only create 4 noteworthy chances in front of our own fans, questions need to be asked
