There has been no movement by BMc in the transfer window yet, but that still hasn't stopped the papers from linking us with moves for a number of players. One of those players we were linked with earlier in the window, Zurab Kizhniashvililililililili, is now staying put in Turkey and another rumoured target, Chris Humphrey of Motherwell looks like he is heading to Rangers.

Noel Hunt
The Irish striker has recently been released by Reading where he played for five years before Nigel Adkins told him he would be surplus to requirements. The 30 year old had a scoring record of around 1 in 4 while in the Championship for Reading, however, he is more of a creator than a finisher. In this sense he is in the same mould as fan favourite Ross McCormack who is a better player in my opinion. Hunt, currently 30, has already won this division with Reading and you wonder whether he has the desire to make an impact at Leeds, after a recent vote on twitter, Leeds fans narrowly voted in favour of signing Hunt, yet this is more likely just a story linking an ex-Reading player with Brian McDermott.
Eric Lichaj
Leeds fans know what the 24 year old American international is all about after he made 16 appearances for us on loan back in 2011. After that loan spell, Lichaj made it clear that he wished to join Leeds on a permanent basis and Simon Grayson expressed an interest in signing him, however a deal was never struck. Lichaj's form with Leeds led to a call up to the USA squad that were runners up in the 2011 North American Gold Cup and he has gone on to play 8 times for his country. A full back who can play on either side, Lichaj has been released by Villa after making 17 appearances last season. He would allow Byram to be pushed forward and Lichaj, who seems to be popular with Leeds fans, would be able to fill in at right back.
Jerome Thomas
After Thomas was released by manager Steve Clark, the papers soon linked another ex-loanee with a return to LS11. Thomas joined us when GFH completed the takeover along with Alan Tate and he provided much needed width to the team. While some of his displays were excellent, he did often go missing in games, but Leeds' best spell of the season coincided with his signing. The former u21 international was heavily linked with Blackburn, but with the Lancashire club closing in on Alan Judge, the door could be opened for Leeds to swoop in. However, he is another player who is getting on in their career and it isn't the kind of progressive signing most Leeds fans would be looking for.
Barry Bannan
The fourth and final player linked with Leeds was ANOTHER ex-loanee in the shape of Barry Bannan who joined us on loan while Leeds' play off push was faltering back in 2011. He failed to impress generally and looked too lightweight to hack it in the Championship. Since then he has made over 50 appearances in the Premier League for Villa and the rumours are that Leeds have made initial talks with Villa and the 23 year old. He can play either in the middle or left of midfield and despite lacking physical strength, he is impressive with the ball at his feet and he is good from dead balls. Who needs strength anyway when you have Rodolph 'The Beast' Austin playing alongside you?
