In the two weeks since we last posted the rumours we have seen Brian McDermott's first signing come through the door in the (rather large) shape of Matt Smith and the manager has confirmed that there has been no interest in any of the Leeds players so far but he assures us that he is working hard to get deals over the line, with Noel Hunt all but confirmed.
TOMMY ROWE- PETERBOROUGH
This was a rumour which came something out of the blue as Peterborough director Barry Fry had confirmed that there was interest in the 24 year old from Leeds. However, GFH's lack of funds was called into question again as Fry queried whether Leeds had the funds to purchase Rowe from the London Road club, telling Radio Leeds,
This was a rumour which came something out of the blue as Peterborough director Barry Fry had confirmed that there was interest in the 24 year old from Leeds. However, GFH's lack of funds was called into question again as Fry queried whether Leeds had the funds to purchase Rowe from the London Road club, telling Radio Leeds,
"The player and his agent have expressed an interest and they have spoken to Brian MacDermott, so there is a willingness for the player to join Leeds, definitely. But until a transfer fee and a package can be sorted out then it won't happen and the player's aware of that and if he has to stay with us. But there's other clubs in for him as well, even though they are in the south and not up north and the decision will be his at the end of the day. “
Rowe looks like a good player and he certainly caused us problems last year and at the age of 24 he is another younger player. Rowe is out of contract next year and he has rejected an offer from Peterborough which may force Fry's hand as he risks losing him for nothing next summer.
ANTHONY STOKES- CELTIC
The Irish international is another player who is out of contract in the summer and another who would bolster Leeds' attacking options. The former Arsenal trainee struggled after making a move to Wearside with Sunderland but has blossomed in Scotland with Hibernian and Celtic. The 24 year old is only reported as being a back up signing if BMc fails to lure fellow countryman Kevin Doyle to LS11.

MATT UPSON- UNATTACHED
The 34 year old centre back is thought to be a target for McDermott as he looks to improve what was a fragmented defence last season with a number of people including Stephen Warnock, Rodolph Austin and Paul Green all being shifted back there at various points during the season. If Upson were to join, he would be the second player to have been in England's most recent World Cup squad to join up, along with Warnock himself.
RANDOM RUMOUR OF THE WEEK
According to one rumours site, Leeds are in talks with Botev Plodiv and Bulgaria under 21 attacking midfielder Todor Nedelev.
